Zinc oxide manufacturing has traditionally relied on fuel-fired furnaces to vaporise zinc, a process that works but comes with real limitations in emissions control and batch consistency. Anvith Industry set out to change that with India’s first fully automated Auto Electric ZnO plant, built on the belief that cleaner production processes lead directly to better, more consistent products.

What Makes an Electric ZnO Plant Different

Instead of combustion-based heating, an electric zinc oxide plant uses electrically heated furnaces to vaporise zinc metal, which is then oxidised to form zinc oxide powder. This approach significantly reduces the emissions associated with fuel combustion and gives operators much finer control over furnace temperature – a critical variable that determines particle size, purity and overall product consistency.

Automation and Consistency at Scale

Full automation removes much of the variability that comes from manual process control. Temperature, feed rate and oxidation conditions can be monitored and adjusted with far greater precision than in conventional setups, which translates into tighter batch-to-batch consistency – something formulators across rubber, paints, ceramics, pharmaceuticals and electronics depend on for predictable performance in their own production processes.

Why Cleaner Production Matters to Customers

For customers, the benefits of an electric, automated plant go beyond environmental impact. Reduced emissions and controlled processing conditions typically result in a purer end product, with fewer trace impurities that could otherwise interfere with sensitive formulations, particularly in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and electronics applications where impurity tolerances are extremely tight.

Backed by R&D and Rigorous Testing

Every grade produced at the facility is supported by dedicated R&D and quality testing before it reaches a customer’s production line. This combination – clean electric manufacturing plus rigorous testing – is what allows Anvith Industry to supply zinc oxide across such a wide range of industrial grades without compromising on the specification requirements each application demands.
